Dyson shop opens.

Hello all. The subject of t-shirts and merchandise keeps getting raised, so we decided to experiment with an online shop selling Dyson-themed apparel. We are not doing this to try to cash in, but mostly because there seems to be a demand for it, so we have only added a few bucks on top of the base price. (3-4$s only, it is mostly a service to those of you who like this stuff! :-) )

See what you think: Alex and Rudolf’s Dyson-Game shop.

If this is successful we may expand into a European shop as well to ease the shipping cost. Comments below if you have any. :-)

  1. I hate to say it…but those shirts are kinda ugly. The images are actually pretty nice, but as a whole it just looks odd with the square image pasted onto the shirt.

  2. Well, that is a matter of taste, some people already told me they really liked several of them. Granted, some are nicer than others of course. We will likely update the selection when we get some more comprehensive feedback. :-)

  4. Maybe if you could somehow leave out the borders, and choose a shirt where the shirt color is the same as the color of the background of the image. So it just looks like a tree on a shirt, or an asteroid w/trees on a shirt, instead of being inside a rectangle. I think that might look good. But of course you’re perfectly right about the taste thing, I can’t vouch for mine in any way :P

  5. I agree. I’d be interested in a t-shirt that just had a little dyson seed on it or a tree growing up from the base of the t-shirt and a couple of seeds scattered across it. Ditch the border and background for sure.

  6. I tried borderless images and they looked bad, really cheap. (To my surprise) HOWEVER, I agree with you that having only square shirt images is a bit lame :-) . We will try transparancies next, so basically using a specific shape as opposed to it being against a square background. Hopefully that will give us a bit more choice, and sounds like the thing you would enjoy more. Thanks for the feedback!

  7. I dunno, if we had a larger community on the forums, I’d recommend that you host a t-shirt design competition, as there are bound to be some very talented designers/photoshoppers in a fair sized community, but then again, you could always just post one and see where it goes. I’d give it a try.

  8. We are open to ideas, we will definitely redo the shirts by trying more iconic images without a background. Feel free to post ideas on the forum, but we will also try some more suitable designs.

  9. Maybe a tree coming out of the neck and seeds flying down (or viceversa from the waist)

But anyway, I’ve been following you guys from the procedural gen compo in TIGS, and I wish that you can grow your own big tree, because you have already gifted 50.000 seeds already? Thank you

Keep up the _very_ good work ^^

  10. Why don’t you just use dyson colored shirts? :P Seriously, could work; dyson looks great already, so make a shirt that looks like you are playing it!

  11. Hi,

I agree; have like 1/2 the planet(or less) and the back ground as the same as the shirt’s color. This is just a screenshot on a t-shirt. People might buy it support Dyson but it not that great. Try a black T-shirt with your orange color bugs and like 8 circle the 1/2 planet and 2 or 3 flying to another.

Another good one will be planet in the center of the T-shirt while there are scatered planets all over the shirt max of 4 or 5. with different colors bugs and flshing red plant.

  12. A gigantic tree, rooted in an asteroid that flows off the bottom edge of the shirt. Somehow I see that striking enough of an impression to prompt people to ask about it.

Or just a repeating pattern of seedlings. What about screen-printing them?
