Dyson is an ambient real-time strategy game with abstract visuals.
Remotely command semi-autonomous self-replicating mining machines to take over an entire asteroid belt.
The original game was made in one month for the TIGSource Procedural Generation competition. Much of the game’s content is procedurally generated.

Q: Are you still working on Dyson? What’s the plan?
A: We are working on Dyson. We just released a great new build for the 2009 IGF. We added a bunch of stuff to the game since the end of the TIGSource competition, so go check it out
Q: Will there be multiplayer?
A: It’s not in the plan. We realise that many RTS fans love multiplayer, and that Dyson’s AI is far from… well, good, at the moment, but we’re not experienced in multiplayer games yet and haven’t planned multiplayer in from the beginning (which we are told can often lead to problems later). We have detailed plans that will result in a great single player experience, and we want to concentrate on that. Sorry!
Q: Are you planning a Mac version?
A: Yes! It’s now in the plan. We have successfully (Thanks to d0k and KareemK!) got a Linux version running and the current release is available on that platform. It should be possible to get a Mac version running so we will keep you posted. Join the mailing list to keep up to date with our releases!
